Bethany Announces Speechless Film Festival Winners

Bethany Lutheran College, who held their "Speechless Film Festival", an exhibition event that took place for the first time at the Mankato Event Center last year and was publicized by Slanted Magazine Southern Minnesota Arts & Culture, has announced the winners of the festival for 2014.

The international film festival is intended for film students and film professionals. It observes the art of telling stories in a visual way. Winners are as follows:

Professional Narrative Still, submitted by director William Lüof the Netherlands.

Student NarrativeDraw, Don’t Speak, directed by Griffin Huber of Portland, Oregon.

Professional animation/experimental/other categoryDisplacements, a nine-minute film by Manual Alvarez Diestro from the United Kingdom.

Student animation/experimental/other categoryFive-minute film titled I M Possible by Savannah College of Art and Design student Prasad Narse.

New Made in Minnesota category A nine-minute submission called June by Ted and Tonya Wittman, from Waseca, Minnesota.

The film festival showings will take place in the downtown Mankato Place Movie Theater Thursday through Saturday, March 20-22, 2014.
