Indie Film Showing at Owatonna Library Thursday: The Lady in the Van

Lady in the Van film

This Thursday, May 26 at 2:00 PM, Indie & World Films at the Owatonna Public Library will present a 2015 British comedy-drama.

The Lady in the Van tells the true story of Mary Shepherd, an elderly woman who lived in a dilapidated van on writer Alan Bennett’s driveway in London for 15 years. What begins as a begrudged and “temporary” favor becomes a relationship that will change both of their lives. Filmed on the street and in the house where they lived all those years, acclaimed director Nicholas Hytner reunites with Bennett to bring this rare and touching portrait to the screen.
