June Additions to Independent World Films at Owatonna Public Library

Race

Two films were shown and added to the permanent collection of independent world films at Owatonna Public Library. Those films were "Race" and "The Lesson". Films were shown in the Gainey Room of the Library, usually done twice per month as part of the series.

The Owatonna Chronicle published the info about the films and what they are about, as well as their countries of film production origin.

"Race" is a movie about the Nazi Hitler era when Jesse Owens ran in the Olympics in 1936. The movie's undertones are well suggested in the euphemistic title.

"The Lesson" is a Bulgarian movie. It is a drama about a teacher with complex problems involving family, life, work, crime and disaster.
