MN Rhymesayers Artist Prof Makes Rolling Stone's Sept 2015 10 Artists List

South Minneapolis rapper told Sway, an entertainment and music journalist (as well as a hip hop radio icon), that his fan base was mostly regional and even talked about being booed off stage. Well, with a recent label move to Rhymesayers in association with his Stophouse Music Group, Prof has been making some big noise, even outside Minnesota. Sway did a lot of work promoting and exploring Prof's talent and appeal to young people at the 2015 Soundset festival in the Twin Cities.


MN Fats Rapper Releases Videos with Snoop Lion and Wocka Flocka

MN Fats, a Minnesota hip hop artist with a street hustle sound and larger than life frame, recently released a couple new music videos. One of those videos, for his song "Can I Freak", has had around 15,000 views on YouTube so far. The song features Waka Flocka, a successful southern hip hop artist.


Minnesota's Ant from Atmosphere Joins LA Weekly Top Producers List

Ant,the producer and DJ from Minneapolis, joins LA Weekly's list of 20 best hip hop producers. LA Weekly's list includes those the magazine believes have been the most influential in producing quality music, as well as commercially successful music. Ant, noted for producing the Minneapolis sound for more than 20 years, was #20 on the list.


New Luminati Da God Hip Hop Video: Something

Trent Walton, also known as Luminati Da God, a hip hop artist from Mankato, Minnesota, released a new video recently. Luminati Da God is part of the Grind 1st production company. This reflective track is called "Something" and features soulful samples and a signature Midwest sound, but with a street message. The video was shot in downtown Manhattan.

Saint Peter's annual Rock Bend Folk Festival kicked off this past week to a large crowd of attendees. There were a lot of great bands as well as food vendors. Iron Maiden Vocalist to Pilot Boeing 747-400 Jet to Six Continents for Book of Souls Tour

Iron Maiden, a metal band from the 80s still putting out albums and touring worldwide with a cult following for those in love with their gory and artistically detailed imagery, still knows how to do big things when they go on tour. The band has travelled via Boeing jets on a number of tours throughout the millennia and their newest Book of Souls tour is only different in that they will be travelling on the largest jet yet and it will be piloted by Maiden's vocalist, Bruce Dickinson. The band will play in six contents travelling more than 55,000 miles around the world.


Country Artist Jerrod Niemann to Perform at MSU

MANKATO, Minn. – Chart-topping country star Jerrod Niemann will perform in concert during Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Homecoming week celebration Friday, Oct. 9.

Opening for Niemann will be country artist Morgan Evans.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct., 9 in Myers Field House. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show will be free for Minnesota State Mankato students and will go on sale for non-students Sept. 1.
