Mankato’s iconic event is back! On Saturday, June 28 the Barefoot Winos and the Mankato Symphony will take the stage at Riverfront Park. The Winos are one of Mankato’s most popular blues bands and will be sure to delight the crowd. The MSO will play lighter pops fare, including some patriotic favorites and some brand new movie and TV theme music. Listen closely because we’ll ask you to name that theme!

Music on the Hill Chamber Series Wraps Up Season

The season comes to a close with a quintet of faces familiar to Music on the Hill audiences. The concert opens with Beethoven’s first string quartet. Next Grammy winning violinist Karen Kim will perform a remarkable new piece, written for her, to Mankato: “In Search of a Violin Sonata” by Craig Woodward. The final work of the program is Faure’s C Minor piano quartet. Performers include Lydia Miller, Karen Kim, Mary Jo Gothmann, Emily Hagen, and Hanno Strydom.

Sixth Annual Blues on Belgrade Festival

Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound and The Sena Ehrhardt Band will headline the Sixth Annual Blues on Belgrade Festival
Saturday, July 26. Music starts at noon. The Sena Ehrhardt Band will perform at 7:30 pm and Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound closes the
festival taking the stage at 9:30 p.m.

DJ Abilities Concert at Whats Up Lounge Tonight, Carnage at Midtown

DJ Abilities will play a set at the What's Up Lounge in Mankato tonight at 10 p.m. featuring Ill P.O.E., T-Ly and Phenom, all local artists with great emcee capabilities.

DJ Abilities is a classic Minnesota DJ and hip hop artist, that is most famous for his work with Eyedea, a now deceased emcee who also made a name for himself in the underground world of hip hop battles with Rhymesayers crew.


Revilwen CD Release Party a Blast and Success

Revilwen photos came flashing in across Facebook feeds from FuzzTalkRadio, a Mankato-based Internet radio network that commands thousands of local listeners every month. Fuzzy, the host and mastermind behind the FuzzTalk brand was at the show, as he is at so many, and took quite a few pics at the exciting show that rocked the What's Up Lounge on Riverfront this weekend.

Wes Schuck from Two Fish Studios Posts Experience of SXSW Incident

Wes Schuck, owner of Two Fish Recording Studios and No Alternative Media in Mankato, posted a photo from SXSW just minutes before a vehicle roared through a crowd killing and inuring some people at the music festival in Austin, Texas.

Schuck is a music promoter who has been involved in countless recordings and tours and recently beat a stint with colon cancer. Schuck said he is glad to not be hurt in the incident, which he was close to, according to his Facebook post. Schuck is now involved in film making but always takes time to hit up SXSW music festival in Austin.
