Javier Trejo at the Arts Center

SAINT PETER, MINN. – Lauded by Twin Cities Daily Planet for his “ungodly guitar skill, smart songwriting, and powerfully emotive vocals,” guitarist, singer and songwriter Javier Trejo and his band will perform at the Arts Center of Saint Peter on Friday, Nov. 20. Trejo plays in a range of genres, augmenting Latin roots with rock, R&B, blues, and countrywestern. A Pulse of the Twin Cities review praised his variety of songs and styles, from sensual acoustic music to high-energy “dyed-in-the-wool San Francisco rock…all of it enriched by a sinewy, Latin aesthetic.” He is a five-time Minnesota Music Award winner for his work with the New Primitives. “It’s a truly unique and rare treat to see Javier perform his music in such an intimate venue. This is what supporting local is all about,” said Steven Guse, producer and host of KMSU Radio’s “Embrace the Sound.” Admission is $10. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for a pre-show reception with cash refreshments provided by performance sponsors Patrick’s on Third and Morgan Creek Vineyards. Music begins at 7:30 p.m.
Since 1979, the Arts Center of Saint Peter has hosted performances, classes, and exhibits showcasing regional and national artists. The galleries are free and open to the public. Hours and information are at artscenter.org.
