Rhymesayers has come a long way. Their festival and artists are now featured on Shade 45, Eminem's radio station with host Sway from Sway in the Morning, the ultimate hip hop radio show on XM radio and YouTube. 2016 was no exception.

They moved it to the State Fairgrounds from Canterbury Park in Shakopee, its usual location. Common, Atmosphere, The Roots, Danny Brown, Pharoe Monch, DJ Marley Marl, Post Malone and several local acts including Finding Novyan, J Plaza, Baby Shel, Mike the Martyr and Metasota.

Last year, Killa Cook, Prof, BDotCroc, St. Paul Slim, Carnage The Executioner and Muja Messiah ripped the mic, along with several Native American rappers representing Minneapolis Native hoods and places like Red Lake, a community recently explored in an Apple Music and Vice project.
