Former STP Frontman Scott Weiland Found Dead of OD in Tour Bus in Bloomington

The former vocalist for 90s era alternative rock band, Stone Temple Pilots, Scott Weiland died on December 3. STP had a major following around the world and the band contributed a great deal to modern alternative rock music of the 1990s and early part of the 2000s, headlining clubs during the heydays of grunge, alternative and new metal.

According to reports, an autopsy declared the reason of death to be overdose, a common fate of rock musicians unfortunately. KARE 11 Twin Cities reported Weiland was found inside his tour bus near a hotel in Bloomington. A toxic mix of cocaine and synthetic drugs were found in his system, reportedly.

Weiland was set to play another show in Rochester with his band, the Wildabouts. An associated of the rock star was charged with possession of an illegal substance.
