Indie Foreign Film at Owatonna Library: Far from the Madding Crowd

In Victorian England, the independent and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak, a sheep farmer; Frank Troy, a handsome and reckless soldier; and William Boldwood, a prosperous, mature bachelor. Thomas Hardy’s literary classic, Far from the Madding Crowd, is a compelling and timeless tale that is much more than a love story. Although written almost 150 years ago, Bathsheba remains as fierce a character as ever - and she has been brought to life by Carey Mulligan in this dazzling new production.
