​Summer Theatre Camps Announced and Seek Instructors & Apprentices

NUACT will present programs for kids in New Ulm and Nicollet this summer and is seeking qualified counselors to assist in the operation of two theatre camps. Applicants should have a love for the theatre, kids, story telling, and improvisation. This is a unique opportunity to work with the Executive and Artistic director of the New Ulm Actors Community theatre. A small stipend is available.

The NUACT / Lind House Play Reading Society celebrates its second birthday and the beginning of its third season on May 13 at 7:00 pm at the Lind House with a reading of The Miracle Worker by William Gibson.


Music on the Hill Chamber Series Wraps Up Season

The season comes to a close with a quintet of faces familiar to Music on the Hill audiences. The concert opens with Beethoven’s first string quartet. Next Grammy winning violinist Karen Kim will perform a remarkable new piece, written for her, to Mankato: “In Search of a Violin Sonata” by Craig Woodward. The final work of the program is Faure’s C Minor piano quartet. Performers include Lydia Miller, Karen Kim, Mary Jo Gothmann, Emily Hagen, and Hanno Strydom.

The CityArt Walking Sculpture Tour will be welcoming thirty-two new sculptures on Saturday, May 17th into the City Centers of Mankato and North Mankato. The program will feature stunning works of art created by renowned artists from 12 different states in the U.S., 2 foreign countries and many pieces by Minnesota artists.

Mankato Comedy's Last Show in Mankato at Busters

Dwight York, presented by Mankato Comedy and Slanted Magazine Southern MInnesota Arts and Culture

Mankato Comedy has had a good run, with performances twice per month for a year at the Mankato Event Center, but due to a lack of financing for the last show of the year there the local comedy business made a change of venue to Busters Bar for their final performance, featuring Dwight York and hosted by Zack Kolars.

Sixth Annual Blues on Belgrade Festival

Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound and The Sena Ehrhardt Band will headline the Sixth Annual Blues on Belgrade Festival
Saturday, July 26. Music starts at noon. The Sena Ehrhardt Band will perform at 7:30 pm and Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound closes the
festival taking the stage at 9:30 p.m.
