Two Icelandic brothers in Clarkfield, Minnesota have built a wind-powered cell phone charger, according to Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

A tweet coming from Biz Journal this morning linked to the story by Jim Hammarand. According to his report, the device is still in prototype format and not yet available for public consumption. However, the technology remains an interesting bit of technology news for Minnesota.


Cancion de las Americas

The Mankato Symphony Orchestra is gearing up for another exciting symphonic concert titled “Canción de las Américas” (Song of the Americas) on Sunday May 4, at 3 p.m. in the Mankato West High School Auditorium. This concert will focus on music from all over the Latin world, including compositions by Ravel, Villa-Lobos, and Bermel. Special guest vocalist and percussionist Estaire Godinez will also be making an appearance. It’ll be a celebration of Latin music, a fusion of Old World elegance and modern rhythms, music that makes the heart both sing and dance.
