Roald Dahl Willy Wonka Tale Performed in New Ulm by Theater Group

The State Street Theater Co. announces a wonderful summer experience for 50 performers in grades K-12 to star in a fully staged production of the Broadway musical, "Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka." The musical is based on the Book "CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY" by Roald Dahl. The State Street Theater Co will have one of the last community theatre licenses allowed because new large scale London and New York productions are being staged. This production is by special arrangement with Music Theatre International from New York.

NEW ULM - The Irish Cultural Society of New Ulm celebrates it's 50th Anniversary of the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Tuesday, March 17. Step off is at 5 pm. The parade route begins at 3rd South Minnesota and marches the wrong way, up one-way Minnesota Street to the Glockespiel. The parade is the longest consecutive running Irish parade in the state.

This year, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Chieftans have bestowed the honor of Grand Marshal on Pat Kearney and crowned his daughter Emma, as the Irish Queen.

On Thursday, March 19, Chris Abani will answer questions about writing, present a craft talk, and give a reading. All events are free and open to the public.

NUACT Changes it Name to State Street Theater Co. and Seeks New Logo

The community theatre in New Ulm legally changed its name to "The State Street Theater Co." Formed as the Pioneer Players in 1978 then becoming New Ulm Actors Community Theatre in 2003, the board of directors voted to legally change the name based on the new theatre building it now operates and will soon own.

Coming up on Saturday, January 17th, it is the third of four free educational mini concerts performed by the Mankato Symphony Orchestra String Quartet. Suitable for all ages, part three of Haydn Go Seek is based upon Austrian composer Franz Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet “The Frog.” “The Frog” gets its name from a technique called bariolage, in which string player play the same note on two adjacent strings, one of which is open and one of which is stopped.

Chill at a Crazy Huge Ice Castle in Eden Prairie this Winter
